Blogging Etiquette


When commenting on blogs and what others have written, it is important to show RESPECT for the author's work.

We can do this by ...

1. Being positive in the tone of our comments.
2. Being specific. Say exactly what you like or appreciate about the author's work / writing etc.
3. Being constructive in our comments. You can offer your feedback / suggestions to someone in helpful way. This is called
constructive criticism.
4. Being conscientious. Ensure your proof read your comment carefully for spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors before
you hit send.

4. End with a question
5. Re-read your comment and check it!

Now that you know the basics of how to write a quality comment, I would like you to visit a friend's blog and leave a comment on their latest post that demonstrates your new knowledge.

• As a group submit your scripts and storyboards to Mr B for approval
• As a group, be prepared to share your "item" with the rest of the class

• Write a reflection of what you now understand about "digital etiquette"

1. Draft the reflection in your draft books
2. Proof read and edit your writing
3. Conference with teacher
4. Publish your reflection on your blog, use the title - "My Reflections on Digital Etiquette"
5. Invite your parent/s to comment on your post. (Remember the rules for positive commenting)

• Create your own comic strip that reflects you new knowledge and understanding about "digital etiquette"
• Storyboard your comic and conference with teacher prior to starting your online comic
• Use Lego Comic Builder to create your comic.
• Screen capture your comic when complete.
